Brothers stick together, originally uploaded by john m flores. What, did I someone say we don’t have enough cats in this blog? 😉

Slice, originally uploaded by john m flores. My adventures with the GH2 continue, now with the addition of a Metz 50 AF-1 flash. I’m no strobist, but I do like to supplement available light with on-camera fill, preferably bounced off of some diffusing surface. I had good luck with a Metz 58 AF-1 on my…

Greenery, originally uploaded by john m flores. Have you ever looked at something that you’ve seen a million times with fresh eyes? More playing around with Pentax lenses on the Panasonic GH2, this time the vaunted DA35 F2.8 Macro Limited. It’s a cracking good lens, although some have noted that 35mm requires you to get…

Jammed Session, originally uploaded by john m flores. The local record store Curmudgeon Records had a band play one cold winter night, with music and teen spilling out into the street. The Italo/Argentinean joint across the street turned up their music to counter the thrashing. Good luck with that. What’s cool about the GH2 and…

Spent some time with the folks at the National Popular Vote, a group seeking to ensure that the presidential candidate with the most popular votes wins. Paychex founder and erstwhile independent Tom Golisano has recently signed on as spokesperson (and major donor) and they announced their redoubled efforts in Washington DC. For more information about…

A cheap and cheerful Sigma, originally uploaded by john m flores. I’ve had a cheap and cheerful Sigma 28-80 F3.5-5.6 plastic fantastic sitting in a drawer for a year now. Thought I’d take it out for a quick spin in the yard to see if it still catches light. Yup, it does.
