And then there are times when the GH2 is capable of DOF control and blurred backgrounds. This shot was with the 20mm F1.7 set to F2.5 with a shutter of 1/100 at base ISO (160). I leaned in to frame the bike, throwing the rest of the scene into slight blur. The result is nice, a subtle 3D effect.
So the camera is capable of Point-and-shoot style deep DOF and dSLR shallow DOF. Shooting conditions will dictate which style you can get. On the balance, I think M43 has a more restrictive range of workable aperture and shutter speed for a given shot. We’ll see if this impression continues over time…
