Here’s a size comparison between the Pentax K-5 and new Pentax K-01. I went old school animated GIF to show that I’ve tried to align the K-mount screws and pins as precisely as possible. Is it a big enough size difference for you? For me, the answer is yes.

Until the release of Panasonic’s diminutive 14mm F2.5, Pentax’s DA40mm F2.8 was the undisputed Mini-me of the camera world.
